Protecting The World We Live In
Living in a 1st world country in Singapore, we rarely have time to experience what nature really have for us. That's the reason why many people fail to understand the beauty as well as the destruction we are causing towards nature and practically the earth itself. We are practically killing ourselves but we expect someone else to save us. All of us have a part on earth so we should take care of it shouldn't we? It's just like taking care of your own house by cleaning.
I blogged about this because i didn't know what to blog about actually, that's the reason why i didn't blog in quite sometime, SORRY READERS! But another reason why i blogged about protecting nature and the earth is because i recently went to country sides and west coast park to be away from the noisy and busy city of Singapore. This is something i think all Singaporeans should experience because many teenagers don't know how to appreciate nature anymore (MAYBE SINGAPORE TREES ARE BORING AS WELL) but still it's very nice to just experience the quietness and beauty of being surrounded with nature that God has created.
Nature teaches many things in life as well. It is only the matter of whether you are looking at the right perspective.
And so i have gone around taking a few pictures here and there. I hope this photos would let you see beauty in a different way.
FIST PUNCH!
We must take care of Earth for our own well-being and for the future generations where our sons and daughters would be. This means protecting our natural environment. Today, Earth is facing severe environmental problems such as air, water and land pollution, deforestation, poorly planned urbanisation, extinction of endemic plant and animal species, soil and beach erosion, depletion of marine resources, destruction of wetlands, traffic congestion, excessive production of solid waste and water shortage. I am very worried about our future and you should to because i really don't see much of a future anymore.
Appreciate what we have now before it's gone and it will be too late for us to turn back anymore. When the trees, animals, plantation are all gone, that is when humans realize we can't eat money.
So with all those talking about how we should protect nature and not destroy them, some might ask how we can protect the Earth. You know i am pretty sure you are being green in someway already especially if you live in Singapore.
But here are a few ways you can help save the environment:
1. Turn off electrical devices – don’t leave them on “standby”
Devices on standby are still using and wasting electricity. Help protect the environment by switching them off completely when you are not using them.
2. Turn off electric lights when you leave the room
STOP WASTING! If everyone did this we would save over 20% of electricity!
3. Only boil the amount of water you need
A huge amount of energy is wasted and ultimately thrown away through boiling unwanted water.
4. Save water
Turn the tap off when you brush your teeth. Reduce the amount of time you are in the shower. Take a shower instead of a bath or use less water for your bath. Our water supplies are the natural resource that is most at risk.
5. Reduce energy costs and environmental pollution levels
Renewable energy sources, such as solar panels and wind turbines, convert natural resources into electricity for our homes, schools or places of business.
6. Use your bike or walk
Don’t use the car unless it is essential, instead walk or use your bicycle – plus they are much better
for your health and reduce pollution from vehicles.
7. Reuse or recycle
We have heard this many times but still turn our heads to the other side. But is as simple as buying recycled paper so you could reuse your shopping bag or buy bags made from recycled goods.
