HOW I EDIT MY PHOTOS ON MY PHONE? (Android)

EDITING WITH PHONE

Some of my friends have been asking how i edit my Instagram and now here i will blog and talk about how i edit using my phone. I am very comfortable with editing with the phone rather then using Photoshop on the computer as it is much more easier and faster.

I will only go through some of the basics that makes a good photo (in my opinion) and a DIY feature that i think is very useful. It is fine if you don't like how i edit my photos but i hope i have let you learned something new from this at least. But firstly, you can see through what apps i used to edit my photos on Instagram.

Now i'll begin by introducing "Snapseed". It is a very good photo app that enables a person to tune the picture in detail. I use it on almost every photo i post because i use it to tune the picture as a foundation for further effects and editing or let it be as it is depending on the pictures you want to create.
(It highly depends on the picture you take and what you want to portray to your viewers)

And after i got the foundation right, you can choose to leave it as it is or further edit or place filters.
I personally use "VSCO" which my friend recently introduced it to me and i played around for a bit and found that it has a very good range of filters to choose and edit from.

 i especially like the "Fade" option in the tune section in VSCO as i can't find it elsewhere in other apps and i really like how it makes my picture look. It creates the feeling better somehow.
LEFT = NO FADE
RIGHT= FADE

DIY Blending (Cloning)

As i can't find any app that was able to clone my pictures nicely like some on the iPhone app store. I actually DIY'ed a the cloning because i really wanted it. So here are the step by step short tutorial on how i do it.

Firstly, use "Photo Grid" to form a collage. Choose the photos you want and put it in a grid horizontally like the example i shown below.

Next, shift the photo to the "Snapseed" app which i introduced before.
NOTE: Crop a small bit the ends of the picture because "Photo Grid" puts a border around the picture which i hate.

Next, use the "SELECTIVE ADJUST" to adjust the photo detail individually. So in that case, i use it to make the background all white as shown below. You can select the white background and adjust the size of the edit by squeezing or widening with your fingers.

AND THIS WOULD BE THE RESULT

And as what you learned previously, you could add filters as well on VSCO. Though you can use other apps and not necessary the apps i use because it is up to your own
preference.

COLOUR SPLASH

Lastly, i would like to introduce you "PXLR EXPRESS" as i use it for enhancing the photo like
  • Overlays
  • Effects
  • Words (it has many good fonts)
  • Filters
And i will be using a photo i took at McDonalds to help us out.

But this time, i would just talk about a effect in this app which is called COLOUR SPLASH. I personally use this a lot (sometimes i make it less obvious as it is used to enhance the focal point). So when you press the effect, it asks you to select the colour, so you can point it to any colour of the picture and it only shows the colour you have selected.

LEFT: So in this case i selected the Green so it only showed the Green Tea Frappe.

RIGHT: Or you could choose to brush and pain the colours you want out as well, and you can erase them if you made any mistakes.

And this is what the effect could do to enhance your picture (or make it worst) but it is always up to the user that uses it.

Select: Green                 Paint: Background
MOST IMPORTANT

Last and final tip when you ended editing all your photos, is that you should use the "Photo squarer" app to make your photos look rectangular or whatever you want in Instagram because seeing Square photos, it makes it feel like you are just taking a snapshot on the instagram camera and posting it. It feels very unprofessional and no effort put into it and doesn't look appealing to the eyes as well.

This is what i want to show you today so i hope you learned something from me a thing or two. There will be more tutorials about the different apps i use but i will save it for next time so stay tune to my blog for more.

God bless you
