LIFE IN REPUBLIC POLYTECHNIC

New Phase in Life

When I have graduated from ITE CW , i applied to RP for ALL my 5 choices! YOU HEARD IT, ALL 5! But me and my parents become so stressed up and worried that i got rejected for all 5 choices and my parents fetched me to all the Polytechnics in Singapore (besides from Temasak because it's too damn FAR!) to find away to directly appeal in and was really stressed up and worried how my life would become. That was the time i actually turn to God the most because there isn't exactly anything i could do so i fully leave all my troubles to him and tell myself that i don't have to be in control with my life because God is in control with my life and has a plan for me.
And i felt so relieve and stress-free after that even
when my parents are being so stressed up all the time.
And somehow my appeal got in and i got into RP
(amazing thing is my "brothers" that you
will know about them later, went to the same Poly as well.)

My Brothers

And now entered another new phase in life with my "brothers" that we have been together since Secondary school. i used to think that it's impossible for me to get to Poly when i was in Secondary school. And now i am actually here and that shocks me a little when i look back to the past. And see that when i trusted God, somehow things will work out even when everything around me was dark.

Sure i miss my ITE days as there are many fun times and also tough times me and my friends has gone through. Learning so many valuable skills from teachers and friends that made me to who i am today.
But now in Republic Poly, almost everything changed because all my friends are different from what i had in ITE and it made me become another me (if that actually made any sense to you) A better me in that sense. And my character has somewhat changed and be a little little bit more outgoing
and being able to speak up my mind.

Learning in RP

Learning in Republic Poly is very very different from what how they teach in ITE and Secondary school. You don't just sit on the table listening to the lecturer YAPPING AND YAPPING. Everyday there would be a "Problem Statement" which is like a Problem Scenario that we have to solve and present to class everyday depending on the module. So it is always being in teams to workout the solution to the problem statement to present to the class. This really helps us learn "HOLISTICALLY" (if you don't know what that means, check the dictionary) because we don't only learn from what the module want us to learn,
but they also help us in:

1. Presentation Skill
2. Teamwork
3. Managing Time
4. Responsibility
5. Not being shy

I am not sure if other students in RP thinks this way but i honestly do because i want to get rid of the shyness and the "not outgoing-ness" in me. And i want to be a change person and when someone i haven't met in a long time would see you and be like
"WOW, YOU HAVE CHANGED SO MUCH" (not only on the physical appearance)

BEST LECTURER EVER

And also the BEST LECTURER me and my class ever had left to USA to further her studies. There isn't anyone good and nice enough to replace her. And i kinda miss her actually. And i am sure many of my classmates miss her too especially Kelvin.

Friends in RP

And here is the section where i think all my classmates and new friends in RP would want to see. Especially if i posted their picture here. And if you are my classmate, if you haven't appear in my blog, it means you haven't took a picture with me that's all, it doesn't mean i hate you or something because i don't hate anyone.
I remember my 1st time when i entered the class, it was very awkward and everyone in my class is people that i do not know. Honestly when everyone assembled in class, i was a little disappointed that there is only 4 girls in my class (EVEN MY FEMALE LECTURER SAYS SO!). And i think that is why my class guys are always talking and talking about the SOH girls and stuff like that.

But when i got to know some of my classmates better, i couldn't believe how close we became in like a FEW DAYS! And even after 2 weeks, it feels like i knew them for YEARS as we became very close and i am very comfortable with them. And me being comfortable with someone is very hard to happen because i am still very uncomfortable with my friends in ITE even when we knew each other for 2 years. I couldn't have asked for better friends as i know that some of them actually cares for me and i saw it through their actions. This are the people in my life worth treasuring for and i thank God for that.
And so i shall let the photos do the talking!

Life in RP

At first before i started when i dyed my hair, my father was so worried and shocked that i dyed my hair a bright colour. And even when my friends that is RP already told me not to worry, i was actually worried about it too and began to wash my hair a little more often which was quite stupid when i think back. And when i started Poly, it seems that my hair colour was not even bright compared to many others in RP. And i am glad that i didn't get caught with my hair.

I honestly think that dying of hair has nothing to do with our performance in school.

Though because of my hair i guess, people think i am a outgoing person and a sociable person when i am the exact opposite of what they imagine me to be.

I have no regrets coming to RP even when so many people even my parents at first said that RP is a lousy school. But i am here to tell you that in RP, it teaches you what other Poly doesn't and is unique and special. It could be the students that leaves a bad impression to people but there are plenty of good students in this school as well.

People have to stop looking at the 1 bad side of things and
focus more on the 100 good side of things.

And so this is how i normally dress like when i go to school.
I hate wearing long pants and jeans so
i always wear shorts, a shirt and not forgetting a cardigan!
